Family owned and operated for the last three decades, we’ve grown to where we are today by consistently delivering an excellent product at a fair price. The majority of our work comes from repeat and referral customers. Most of our employees have been with us for over five years, and we genuinely care about your project, large or small.

Glen Canfield began installing laminate countertops for homeowners and contractors in the 1970s, running his small business out of his Sellwood home. Glen was a meticulous craftsman and a natural problem-solver, developing a new technique to produce nearly invisible seams in Formica® counters. In the 1980s, he branched out to include tile installation, and passed on his knowledge and craftsmanship to his son Dan, who bought the business in 1988. Throughout the 1990’s Dan noticed the countertop market moving towards slab granite, and in 2000, he began offering slab countertops.

Today, Alpha StoneWorks is located in SE Portland, one mile from Glen’s home, and the start of his company. We are as dedicated today to craftsmanship and customer service as Glen was in the 1970s. We are working with a new generation of surface materials, including quartz, ultracompact, and recycled surfaces. Give us a call!
