Quartz Countertops

Quartz countertops are engineered surfaces made from crushed stone and binders, resulting in a consistent, non-porous material. They don’t require sealing and have become a popular choice for kitchens and other high-use spaces because of their durability and low maintenance.

Quartz performs well in everyday use, but it does have limitations. It’s less heat resistant than most natural stone, and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading, which makes it less suitable for outdoor applications. Understanding those constraints helps determine where quartz makes the most sense.

One advantage of quartz is its structural strength. In some situations, quartz can support longer overhangs than natural stone without additional brackets or corbels, depending on the manufacturer and installation details. Because overhang limits vary, we review specifications carefully before finalizing layouts.

Quartz has been widely used for decades, and today there’s a broad range of colors and patterns available—from clean, uniform looks to designs that mimic natural stone. Its consistency, strength, and ease of care continue to make it a practical and reliable option for many homes. We help clients weigh those qualities against design preferences and project needs to determine whether quartz is the right fit.
